Problem with running iReport on Windows 7 / Java 64 bit

After installation of iReport 5.0.1 on Windows 7 / Oracle JDK 64-bit, I faced with a strange problem. When I tried to launch the iReport program, it is not running, simply nothing happens. I tried to uninstall and reinstall again - without any success.


After some googling the fix is found. The ireport.conf file under c:\Program Files (x86)\Jaspersoft\iReport-5.0.1\etc\ folder needs to be modified. Just uncomment line and change the jdkhome variable to point a valid JRE path as given below:
